You must have Chimera installed to install the user interface module and access the SSD. Chimera is available to download here.

To access the SSD, you must have the user interface module installed. The user interface module automatically connects to the database and will allow you to query the database, and visualize the query results. There must be a network connection open for the user interface module to be able to connect to the database.

After you have installed Chimera, follow these steps to install the user interface module:

  1. Download the SSD zip file. The file contains two directories zipped, "Ssd" and "AlignPlot."

  2. Copy both these directories into the "share" directory of Chimera. The directory structure should be:
    > chimera/
    >>>>>>> share/
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>> ssd/
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>> AlignPlot/

  3. If you do not have access to the Chimera directories, unzip the files into any directory. See the Startup section of the SSD documentation for how to tell Chimera where to look for the extension."
